Inside a Michigan clinic, patients talk about abortion — and a looming statewide vote
Synopsis
Melissa drove overnight from Ohio to Michigan to make her abortion appointment. She had tried for three months to find a closer option, but Ohio’s abortion ban prevented her from getting the care she wanted. She is one of the hundreds of patients who have traveled across state lines to get care at one of Michigan’s two dozen abortion clinics. Michigan Public Radio reporter Kate Wells talks to some of these patients about their journeys and the passionate doctors who’ve provided them care since Roe v. Wade was overturned.
