Abortion in America
His wife almost died because of Texas’ abortion ban. He hopes more men talk about the harms of them.
Synopsis
When Texas radio host Ryan Hamilton’s wife miscarried at 13 weeks, she was denied the abortion and miscarriage treatment she needed due to confusion over Texas’ abortion ban—even though the fetus no longer had a heartbeat. After multiple ER visits and a near-death emergency at home, Ryan shares his story as a way to show how abortion impacts the whole family, including the men.
Ryan spoke with Abortion in America in Austin, Texas to bring greater attention and awareness to the experiences of people living in states with abortion bans.
It was brought to my attention afterwards that it was rare for a male to speak out, which was shocking to me. We’re just supposed to what? Sit at home and say it’s a women’s issue?
