Abortion in America
How an abortion helped her create a safer life
Synopsis
When Jen Jackson Quintano was in her twenties, living in southern Utah, she needed an abortion. She lived with an abusive boyfriend at the time. Her abortion gave her the opportunity to leave her relationship and build a new life in Idaho—a safer life. The care that once gave Jen a way out is no longer an option for other young women living under abortion bans.
Jen spoke with Abortion in America in Austin, Texas to bring greater attention and awareness to the experiences of people living in states with abortion bans.
I have gratitude for the young woman who navigated those experiences. I don’t feel shame about her anymore.
