“I fear for other women out there in Florida”: Deborah Dorbert shares a story of grief, injustice, and determination
Deborah Dorbert, a mother living in Lakeland, Florida, was over the moon to discover she was pregnant with her second child. But at a routine ultrasound, she learned that her much-wanted baby had a fatal condition called Potter syndrome.
Because of Florida’s abortion ban, Deborah and her husband could not find a doctor willing to honor their wish to end the pregnancy. Instead, she was forced to remain pregnant, and give birth to her son Milo, who she knew would not survive.
Deborah shared her story as part of Abortion in America’s work to bring greater attention and awareness to the experiences of people living in states with abortion bans.
