Inside an Iowa Planned Parenthood clinic before abortion ban takes effect
Synopsis
Michaela Ramm for the Des Moines Register captured the final days at an Iowa Planned Parenthood clinic before the state’s 6-week abortion ban took effect. Her reporting looks at the personal toll these bans have on the doctors at the clinic providing some of the last legal abortions in the state. The doctors described the tragedy in what felt like a normal day — seeing a patient who was denied an abortion for an ectopic pregnancy despite multiple diagnoses, another who traveled from Texas to have an abortion — making the doctors wonder where these types of patients will go now.
