Woman says she carried dead fetus for 2 weeks after Texas abortion ban

Synopsis

After beauty YouTuber Marlena Stell learned she was having a miscarriage, she says she was denied care because of Texas’s abortion ban. Forced to carry a baby that could not survive for over two weeks, she contacted multiple providers before finding a doctor willing to perform a D&C, which is a routine surgical procedure used during miscarriages. She later shared her experience with her 1.5 million YouTube subscribers, hoping it would help other women feel less alone. Marlena spoke with The Washington Post‘s Timothy Bella about how abortion bans changed how she thinks about future pregnancies.
